Mount Maunganui

All Maintenance Updates by Fulton Hogan in the Mount Maunganui Area

What’s happening in the Mount?

Tauranga City Council has contracted Fulton Hogan Ltd to carry out repairs and maintenance in Mount Maunganui.

This work is part of the Council’s annual programme, improving road safety and investing in our roading assets, including footpaths.

Our work is very weather dependant so dates may change due to the weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Our roadworks include heavy machinery which unfortunately can create noise, vibration and types of environmental factors (including cement dust for example).

MIRO STREET Parking Improvements Project ~ STAGE TWO

Status: COMPLETED

Stage 2: CONCRETE FOOTPATH CONSTRUCTION

Date of Works: MONDAY 30TH MARCH TO FRIDAY 24TH APRIL 2026

Type of Works: Concrete Footpath Construction

The new footpath will be constructed in four sections with one section completed per week. An indication of the sequencing is detailed below. Please note that lengths of the sections may differ slightly based on site conditions and weather.

Additional Information:

The area shown will be managed with a lane diversion and stop/go traffic controls. Please follow the signs and the directions of our traffic team as you move through the site. Your patience helps keep everyone safe, and we truly appreciate it.

Access to and from properties will mostly remain unchanged. In most cases, the new footpath will connect smoothly with existing entranceways. The two cobbled entranceways at numbers 27 and 29 will need some partial reconstruction, which means access will be limited while the concrete sets. Our team will speak directly with the residents at these properties to make sure access needs are understood and managed.

The new road layout allows the work to proceed with minimal impact on traffic management. However, there will be times when parking is not permitted directly outside the active work area. Please follow all posted no‑parking signs and ensure vehicles are always kept clear of these zones. We also ask that all vehicles remain off the grass berm, as the team will be using this area for construction equipment and trucks.
