Mount Maunganui

All Maintenance Updates by Fulton Hogan in the Mount Maunganui Area

What’s happening in the Mount?

Tauranga City Council has contracted Fulton Hogan Ltd to carry out repairs and maintenance in Mount Maunganui.

This work is part of the Council’s annual programme, improving road safety and investing in our roading assets, including footpaths.

Our work is very weather dependant so dates may change due to the weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Our roadworks include heavy machinery which unfortunately can create noise, vibration and types of environmental factors (including cement dust for example).

DENNY HULME DRIVE Chipsealing

Status: ACTIVE

Date of Works: THURSDAY 12TH FEBRUARY 2026

Type of Works: Chipsealing

We resurface our roads to prevent water damaging the layers underneath and potholes forming. Maintaining our roads means we can all move around our city easily and safely.

Loose chip will be swept within a few days of sealing with a second sweep approximately one month later.

Over the next few months, the chipseal will continue to settle, with vehicle traffic playing a key role in the process. Please be assured that we will continue to monitor the road and when necessary, return to sweep up excess loose chip.

Please maintain the temporary speed limit while it is in place. Driving too fast will flick up loose stone chips.

Additional Information:

The highlighted areas will be closed one at a time to minimise disruption, however there will likely be additional traffic management present in the surrounding area. Access to your property may be delayed while sealing operations are in progress.

Please speak to the Traffic Management team on site to be guided safely through the worksite and we ask you allow additional time for this.

EVERSHAM ROAD AND KINGSLEY PLACE Fibredec Chipsealing

Status: ACTIVE

Date of Works: MONDAY 16TH FEBRUARY 2026

Type of Works: Fibredec Chipsealing

We resurface our roads to prevent water damaging the layers underneath and potholes forming. Maintaining our roads means we can all move around our city easily and safely.

The binder in FibreDec contains fibre to help bridge cracks in the road, giving the coating greater flexibility, strength and waterproofing properties compared to traditional chipseal. This binder is then covered with chip to complete the new waterproof protective surfacing on your street.

The affected area will be closed. Access to your property may be delayed while sealing operations are in progress.

Please speak to the Traffic Management team on site to be guided safely through the worksite and we ask you allow additional time for this.
