Mount Maunganui

All Maintenance Updates by Fulton Hogan in the Mount Maunganui Area

What’s happening in the Mount?

Tauranga City Council has contracted Fulton Hogan Ltd to carry out repairs and maintenance in Mount Maunganui.

This work is part of the Council’s annual programme, improving road safety and investing in our roading assets, including footpaths.

Our work is very weather dependant so dates may change due to the weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Our roadworks include heavy machinery which unfortunately can create noise, vibration and types of environmental factors (including cement dust for example).

This work will be done during the day and will include repairing the damaged footpath due to vandalism.

Pedestrians will be shown the safest path to follow at all times. We will endeavour to keep noise to a minimum where possible.

During the curing process, it’s essential that no traffic passes over the freshly poured concrete. The footpath will open again on Monday 8th December 2025.

Additional Information:

The highlighted areas will be closed one at a time to minimise disruption, however there will likely be additional traffic management present in the surrounding area. Access to your property may be delayed while sealing operations are in progress.

Please speak to the Traffic Management team on site to be guided safely through the worksite and we ask you allow additional time for this.

The first sweep was Monday 24th November, the team will return for a second sweep 1st December - Muricata Avenue and Tuesday 2nd December - Sutherland Avenue.

Over the next few months, the chipseal will continue to settle, with vehicle traffic playing a key role in the process. Please be assured that we will continue to monitor the area and take action if any issues arise.
