What’s happening in Papamoa?

Tauranga City Council has contracted Fulton Hogan Ltd to carry out repairs and maintenance in Papamoa.

This work is part of the Council’s annual programme, improving road safety and investing in our roading assets, including footpaths.

Our work is very weather dependant so dates may change due to the weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Our roadworks include heavy machinery which unfortunately can create noise, vibration and types of environmental factors (including cement dust for example).

ROYAL ASCOT DRIVE Footpath Repair

Status: ACTIVE

Date of Works: MONDAY 16TH JUNE 2025

Type of Works: FOOTPATH REPAIR

Pedestrians will be shown the safest path to follow at all times. We will endeavour to keep noise to a minimum where possible.

Please note the BLUE highlights the working area. This site will be operating under footpath closures and a shoulder closure. Residents will be able to still access their properties, we ask that you allow extra time in case machinery is working directly outside your driveway as it can take some time to make a passage for you to enter/ exit.

PACIFIC VIEW ROAD Footpath Repair

GLOUCESTER ROAD Footpath Repair

Papamoa Beach Road Service Lane Retaining Wall Repair

Status: COMPLETED

Date of Works: MONDAY 19TH TO WEDNESDAY 21ST MAY 2025

Type of Works: RETAINING WALL REPAIR

Please note that this work will be done during the day and will include removing damaged section of the retaining wall and repairing it.

Additional Info:

The service lane will be closed, shown in the BLUE highlighted area. The rest of the service lane will be partially closed, shown in the ORANGE highlighted area. Access will be provided to businesses/residents and service vehicles only.

The Gardens Drive Footpath Repair

Status: COMPLETED

Date of Works: MONDAY 12TH TO WEDNESDAY 14TH MAY 2025

Type of Works: FOOTPATH REPAIR

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Please follow the designated pedestrian signs for guidance.

The areas highlighted in BLUE indicate the work zones, while those in ORANGE represent the traffic management setup. Please note that The Gardens Drive will be reduced to a single lane approaching Domain Road. Initially, the entrance to Gardens Drive will be closed to enable work on the north side. Once that phase is complete, it will transition to an exit-only access to facilitate repairs on the south side. Please drive carefully through the site

Enterprise Drive Cul-de-sac Asphalt Resurfacing

Status: COMPLETED

Date of Works: WEDNESDAY 14TH MAY 2025 - Night Works

Type of Works: CUL-DE-SAC ASPHALT RESURFACING

Please note that these works must be undertaken at night due to the traffic volumes during the day and being unable to maintain traffic access during these works.

Additional Info:

The area highlighted in BLUE indicate the work zone. Please note that this section of road will be closed. Residents and businesses will still be able to access their properties if required. Please ask our traffic management team and allow them time to arrange access. Please allow extra travel time.

Market Place Cul-de-sac Asphalt Resurfacing

Grenada Street Asphalt Surfacing

Status: COMPLETED

Date of Works: WEDNESDAY, 23 APRIL 2025

Type of Works: ASPHALTING

As part of the staging for these works, you will experience a temporary road surface with level changes. Please drive carefully through the site

Additional Info:

The highlighted ORANGE section of road will be closed while works is undertaken. Please use alternative routes in BLUE. Limited access will be made for Residents/ Businesses, but we ask that you allow for additional time to ensure our Traffic Management Team can guide you safely through the site. The Grenada Street and Evans Road intersection will be operating under Stop/ Go.
