What’s happening in Tauranga?
Tauranga City Council has contracted Fulton Hogan Ltd to carry out repairs and maintenance in Tauranga City.
This work is part of the Council’s annual programme, improving road safety and investing in our roading assets, including footpaths.
Our work is very weather dependant so dates may change due to the weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Our roadworks include heavy machinery which unfortunately can create noise, vibration and types of environmental factors (including cement dust for example).

Fulton Hogan Ltd has been contracted by Tauranga City Council to carry out pre-seal road repairs in your area as part of Council’s annual maintenance programme to maintain our roads so we can all move around our city easily and safely.
The road surface is at the end of its life cycle and needs resurfacing to keep it watertight and prevent further deterioration.
As part of the work, pre-seal repairs will be completed using cement stabilisation to strengthen the existing pavement. These repaired areas will be chipsealed shortly afterwards. The entire road will then be resurfaced with chipseal later in the season with residents notified by letter drop.

The highlighted areas will be closed one at a time to minimise disruption, however there will likely be additional traffic management present in the surrounding area. You will continue to have access to and from your property while the sealing operation is in progress.

Fulton Hogan Ltd has been contracted by Tauranga City Council to carry out pre-seal road repairs in your area as part of Council’s annual maintenance programme to maintain our roads so we can all move around our city easily and safely.
The road surface is at the end of its life cycle and needs resurfacing to keep it watertight and prevent further deterioration. Preseal repairs are done first, and we then return later in the season to resurface the entire stretch of road with chipseal. When we do Mill and fill repairs, we remove the deteriorated layers of pavement and repair them with asphalt. We will notify you with another letter drop when we come back to resurface the road with chipseal.

On Monday, 20 April, an under-slip occurred on Ōropi Road north of the SH29A roundabout, affecting the road shoulder. Site testing has now been completed, and repairs to the under-slip are underway. We will be building a 60m long, 6m high rock wall, down to the Waiorohi Stream.

We resurface our roads to prevent water damaging the layers underneath and potholes forming. Maintaining our roads means we can all move around our city easily and safely.
